Tips On the YouWiN! Connect 2017 Online Training
How the online course is structured
The online training is the basic requirement for progressing to the next stage of the competition. Fifty-five thousand (55000) applicants made it to this stage of the YouWiN! But after the training, only the best 5000 will be selected to move to the next stage. According to YouWiN! Connect; the best 800 participants from the online training will be selected as National Winners, while the best 700 from each geopolitical zone will emerge as Zonal winners, making the total of 5000 winners.
The training comprises of 6 modules namely;
MARKETING MANAGEMENT
FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT
HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT
GENERAL AND OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT
PERSONAL PRODUCTIVITY
BUSINESS PLAN.
Each module is divided into sessions, activities, and assessment, and this will be the bases for the score each participant will receive. Each candidate can accumulate a total of 100 CD points from each module and a total of 600 CD points when all the modules are complete. The breakdown shows that attendance has 15 CD points, the activity for each session has 15 CD points while the assessment has 70 CD points.
NB: Many people have received their login details while others have not. If you have not received your login details, don’t worry, they will send it to you soon and if you have received your login, go and start the training.
But if after 10th of December, you didn’t receive any emails and you are sure you were shortlisted, then send an email to YouWiN! Connect with this email support@youwinconnect.org.ng.
What You Need to Do to Stand a Chance of Being Selected
Like I said earlier, the online training is made up of 6 modules/sections that you need to complete.
To qualify for selection, you MUST watch /study all the videos in the above sections and answer all the questions. You must complete your tasks/activities to stand a chance.
Your answers must be tailored and relevant to the questions and also show that you understand your business.
If you didn’t answer the questions well, your chances are slim. Therefore, you don’t need to rush the answers. Take time to watch the videos and do research and come up with clear answers.
Clarifications to Some of the Challenges You be Having with the YouWiN! Connect Online Training
Some people have been having challenges with the online training and below are some of these challenges in questions and my suggestions.
So I have decided to share some of the questions/challenges here and my suggestions/opinion on them.
Challenge: My Name is on the list but I have never received any message(s) or email(s) from YouWiN! Connect
My Opinion/Suggestion: If you saw your name on the list and you have never received any messages or emails from YouWiN! Connect; it is possible that you were never shortlisted. The name you assumed as yours could be someone else’s or you submitted a wrong email when you were applying. But if you are convinced, then first, check your spam emails properly. If you still didn’t see it, then send an email to the YouWiN! Connect support team via support@youwinconnect.org.ng.
Challenge: I can’t Access YouWiN! Connect Training Portal with my Android/Smartphone.
My Opinion/Suggestion: For now, the Training portal does not really function well on mobile phones. You will get the best experience if you are using your laptop or desktop. So always use laptop/desktop for the best experience.
If you are using a mobile connection, once you receive a call on your phone, it will interrupt the internet and also interrupt the video.
Question: Must I Watch All The Videos?
My Opinion/Suggestion: Yes you must watch all the videos and answer all the questions to score 100% to stand a chance. NB: that the videos are tracked against your details, so even if you find a way to answer all the questions and avoid the video, you will not be doing yourself much good.
Question: Must I start the online training from day 1? And secondly, must I go on the internet daily for the 30 days?
My Opinion/Suggestion: You don’t need to start the training from day one. You can start the training anytime.
You can use one day to finish the whole training and the task or 5 days or 15days or a month. It doesn’t matter.
You can watch all the videos and answer the questions later. You can download the video, watch it offline, and do all the activities offline and log in to enter your answers. But you cannot do the assessment offline.
It is a flexible training session which means you can pause and continue later. However, ensure that you complete all tasks within the 30days and before the deadline.
