NPOWER UPDATE: Npower Will Shortlist Successful Applicants for 2017 in November- Imokhuede.

The Office of the Special Assistant to the President on Job Creation and Youth Employment and Coordinating Office for the Npower has announced that the list of preselected candidates for the 2017 Npower programme will be released in November. Even though Mr. Afolabi Imokhuede had on a Facebook live chat in September, promised that the list will be released in October,  there appears to be a change of arrangement as he shared a contrary information while on a Channels TV live breakfast show; Sunrise Daily of Monday, 23 rd of October, 2017. In his words; “As we speak now, the first 200,000 are in their 11th month because they started December 2016 and they are volunteering their time in our public primary schools across all the 774 local governments in Nigeria, in our primary health centers and also in our Agric-development programme,” he added. Stands for Youth Enterprise With Innovation in Nigeria, a federal government project started in 2011 by the then federal government of Nigeria under President Jonathan. CBN Governor, Godwin Emiefele The Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) governor, Godwin Emefiele, on Friday explained how President Muhammadu Buhari’s promise to provide 360,000 jobs for youths nationwide, will be actualized. Emefiele told stakeholders at a meeting on the operational framework for the Accelerated Agricultural Development Scheme (AADS), under which the jobs will be created that the scheme was targeted primarily at unemployed youths between the a ges of 18 and 35. The CBN governor said through the scheme, a minimum of 10,000 youths in each state, willing to engage in sustainable and profitable activities along the agriculture value chain, would be employed and trained. “I believe we are on the verge of something very significant with the AADS. “This scheme has been designed to create an ecosystem with the active participation of the public sector, state governments, and the private sector,’’ he said.
